Why Not in Germany?

In 1994, around 25 years ago, Markus Courtial asked himself a question during a stay in Australia: Why can you buy sun protection clothing in Australia, but not in Germany? It would be much more convenient and safer than sunscreen. The reason was relatively simple: Proper UV protection was already a real concern for Australians back then. Children learn its importance in school, sunscreen is available in two-liter containers, and suitable protective clothing is available (almost) everywhere. In Germany, people were using sunscreen, but rather sporadically. For Courtial, it quickly became clear: I'll bring my own UV protection clothing to Germany.

"Sun Protection to Wear" - iQ-Company is Born.

In 1994, he founded the iQ-Company - initially as a provider for diving. However, the idea of UV protection clothing was never lost, and in 2004, he specialized the company in UV clothing – always with the goal of offering "sun protection to wear" for everyone from small to large. To guarantee the best quality, he now manufactures almost exclusively in Europe and from recycled materials. 

Expansion and Occupational Safety as Future Topics.

Over the years, Courtial expands the product range, changes the name to iQ-UV, and expands his offerings throughout Europe. Since 2017, Markus Courtial has also been involved in occupational safety, developing new products that comply with occupational safety guidelines to protect all outdoor workers from the occupational disease of skin cancer.
