Safe UV protection

Excellent UV protection - TÜV tested. Together with TÜV Rheinland, iQ-UV had clothing for everyday use tested in Germany for the first time and has continued to optimise it over many years of intensive development. All products comply with the highest Australian/New Zealand standard (AS/NZS 4399:2017) UPF 50+ excellent UV protection.

Recycled Ocean Plastic 

Fishing nets. 78 per cent of iQ-UV clothing for water sports is made from recycled fishing nets. Around ten per cent of all plastic waste in the sea is so-called ghost nets. By using these fishing nets for iQ-UV products, their quantity is reduced and marine life is protected from the life-threatening effects. With every iQ-UV shirt, you are - figuratively speaking - taking a piece of plastic out of the sea.   

Sustainable & Fair 

UV protective clothing is the most sustainable sun protection. Each IQ-UV shirt reduces the plastic waste mountain by up to 40 sun cream tubes and saves thousands of litres of valuable fresh water compared to cotton. Our environmentally friendly materials do not contain any harmful substances that could end up in waste water during production. We manufacture our fabrics and sew our clothing under fair working conditions in France, Italy, Poland and Portugal. Sustainability and fairness are important to us. 

Made in Europe 

We produce our UV protective clothing in Europe. This is important to us because the short transport routes reduce CO2 emissions and ensure fair working conditions. Our high quality standards and satisfaction guarantee are always guaranteed thanks to the standardised EU production standards.

Safety 

Safety according to EU directives. This is a tested sun protection product from IQ-UV and complies with the European PPE Regulation (EC) 2016/425 and fulfils the standards EN ISO 13688:2013 and EN 13758-2:2003+A1:2006 and AS/NZS 4399:2017.

OEKO-TEX

iQ-UV stands for high product safety, outstanding quality and durability. This product is certified in accordance with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is guaranteed to be free from harmful substances, as we only use pollutant-free materials in its manufacture. 

PET bottles 

iQ-UV clothing for leisure and all outdoor activities is made from 64 per cent recycled PET bottles. This process is purely mechanical, without the use of chemicals (Tencel - botanic fibres made from renewable cellulose). With every iQ-UV shirt, you reduce the gigantic mountain of waste from plastic bottles by five PET bottles and reduce the CO² emissions caused by burning these bottles by three kilograms for every kilogram of fabric. Even more dramatic - and unfortunately not known to many - is the water consumption in the conventional production of fashion. An average of 2,750 litres are used to produce a standard cotton T-shirt, while just 18 litres per T-shirt are used to recycle PET bottles and obtain the iQ-UV materials. In addition, no pesticides need to be used in the production of the recycled materials. In contrast, 167 different pesticides are used to produce one kilogram of cotton.
