SUNSCREEN AND PLASTIC TUBES
The ingredients of most sun creams pollute the life in our lakes and oceans. Each iQ-UV shirt saves up to 10 kilograms of sunscreen. The UV protection shirts sold in 2021 will save up to 420 tonnes of sunscreen in the future. In addition, the environment is relieved because about 1.7 million cream tubes and plastic bottles won't have to be produced.
RECYCLED RAW MATERIALS
iQ-UV products are largely made from recycled raw materials, reducing waste and saving 60-90% energy compared to conventional production from fossil oil. In 2021, we were able to turn 14.2 tonnes of plastic waste into valuable UV protective clothing. iQ-UV PRO shirts are made from old PET bottles, so old is reused rather than incinerated. In 2021, we were able to collect and recycle 77,090 PET bottles, which avoided 8,480 kg of CO2 emissions. The regenerated nylon for AQUA shirts comes from old fishing nets and carpets, the saving compared to conventional nylon is enormous. In 2021, iQ-UV shirts alone saved 46.6 tonnes of fossil oil and avoided 43,300 kilos of CO2 emissions.
The production of one iQ-UV PRO T-shirt requires 18 litres of water, while a standard cotton T-shirt consumes an average of 2,750 litres. In 2021, this saved over 42 million cubic metres of fresh water.
SUSTAINABLE INDIVIDUAL PACKAGING
High-quality clothing needs good packaging so that it is not damaged or soiled during transport and storage. The industry standard for this is the plastic bag. We are committed to replacing plastic bags with paper bags, in the last three years we have reduced the amount of plastic packaging by 72%. The current ratio of iQ-UV individual packaging is 13% plastic bags to 87% paper bags.
ELECTRICITY GENERATION AND CONSUMPTION
Our company building is equipped with a solar system, in 2021 we were able to generate 11,280 kWh of electricity with it. Our consumption was lower at 9,290 kWh.
