We source our fabrics from Italy and France. The manufacturing of our iQ-UV protective clothing takes place in Poland. (Except for UV caps and UV hats, which are manufactured in Myanmar and China respectively.)

In addition to our many years of experience and our specialization in wearable UV protection, our UV protective clothing is regularly tested by independent and well-known testing institutes such as TÜV Rheinland or the Hohenstein Institute. With iQ-UV, we guarantee your safety in the sun.

Yes, the body absorbs enough sun through the face, hands, and eyes to produce sufficient vitamin D.

This fabric combines the excellent wearing properties of the natural fiber TENCEL® with a UV-protective outer layer made of polyester (UV protection 50+). The two-layer construction ensures a particularly pleasant, silky-soft feel. The material feels soft against the skin and actively wicks moisture away from the body. This creates a cool and dry feel at all times – ideal for outdoor temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Composition: 64% recycled polyester, 36% TENCEL®.

Cooling high-performance fabric – a single-layer, synthetic material made from recycled fibers with permanent UV protection 50+. It is extremely lightweight, highly breathable, and particularly pleasant on the skin – ideal for midsummer.

The material quickly transports moisture to the surface where it evaporates. This effect provides active cooling for the skin and supports a long-lasting fresh feeling, even on very hot days. Optimal for outdoor temperatures from 22 degrees Celsius.

Composition: 100% recycled polyester.

The high level of UV protection results from the combination of two components: firstly, due to the UV-reflecting properties of the raw materials used, and secondly, through the fine-mesh structure and special processing of the iQ-UV fabrics and textiles. iQ UV protection is purely physical, completely without chemicals and without additional impregnation. iQ-UV protective clothing is manufactured exclusively from the mostly recycled raw materials listed in the material composition; we do not use chemical or mineral UV blockers. As a result, UV protection from iQ-UV is permanent and reliable, and remains effective even with frequent wear and after many washes.

UPF 50+ means that you can increase your skin's natural protection factor by 50. With iQ-UV 50+ clothing, you can stay in the sun 50 times longer than unprotected. Of course, only the skin areas covered by the UV protective clothing are protected. Example: If you are skin type 2, you have a natural protection time of approx. 15 minutes without damaging your skin. With iQ-UV 50+, you are perfectly and safely protected for 50 x 15 minutes and can enjoy the sun all day long.

No, you are perfectly and safely protected under an iQ-UV shirt. Uncovered body parts must, of course, be protected with sunscreen; we recommend at least SPF 30.

UPF stands for "Ultraviolet Protection Factor", SPF stands for "Sun Protection Factor", and LSF is the German abbreviation for "Lichtschutzfaktor" (Sun Protection Factor). All three indicate the (time) factor by which the skin's natural protection is extended.

Our clothing blocks over 99% of UV-A and UV-B radiation.

PPE stands for Personal Protective Equipment. PPE is understood to mean the equipment worn or held by a person for protection against risks that endanger their health or safety (e.g., UV radiation from the sun).

PPE may only be made available on the market if it complies with the provisions of the European PPE Regulation ("Regulation (EU) 2016/425").

Darker colors have a higher UV protection factor than lighter ones. However, the UV protection factor specified by us is achieved even by the lightest colors.

All iQ-UV protective products are tested with the world's best-known and most renowned AS/NZS 4399 standard - also known as the Australian Standard UV 50+. Our elastic water sports collection is additionally tested with the UV Standard 801.

The UV protection of our clothing and caps always remains above UPF 50+ in both dry and wet conditions.

No. iQ-UV clothing does not release microplastics when washed. The fibers are processed in such a way that no plastic particles detach from the material.

No, our UV protective clothing contains no nanoparticles.

UV-C rays only exist in space; our Earth's atmosphere only allows UV-A and UV-B rays to pass through.

Yes, our UV protective clothing is machine washable. Please pay attention to the care label. TIP: It is best to turn the UV clothing inside out and/or place it in a laundry bag. You can use normal heavy-duty or color detergent. Please do not use fabric softener.

Yes, our caps and hats can be washed in the washing machine at 60 degrees Celsius.

Since we do not use any chemical UV filters or UV impregnations during manufacturing, the excellent UV protection of 50+ is maintained even when washed with fabric softener. However, fabric softener reduces breathability and absorbency. In principle, we advise against using fabric softener because it pollutes the environment and nature.

No, the excellent UV protection remains intact even after at least 25 washes. This applies to our clothing as well as our caps.

Yes, because we use the best elastane: XTRA LIFE LYCRA®, making our UV clothing 5 to 10 times more chlorine-resistant than conventional elastane. As a result, the clothing looks like new for a very long time and retains its elasticity and fit. This applies to the chlorine concentration in German swimming pools.

Yes, our clothing is perfectly suited for this; it does not lose its fit and the excellent UV protection 50+ is maintained in the water.

Soak the shirt with a mild stain remover (such as bile soap and without bleach) – preferably overnight. Then wash the shirt according to the washing instructions.
